Job Description

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Commis II at the Heartist Cafeteria in Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to contribute to our kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences to their own team members - the Heartists!

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring high-quality standards are met
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, following safety guidelines
  • Support senior kitchen staff in daily food production activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food service
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Contribute to menu development and implementation of new dishes
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest inquiries and special dietary requests
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certificate or diploma preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen setting
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; food safety certification required
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of various cuisines and culinary trends
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and food allergies
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Basic English language proficiency; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
