Job DescriptionNovotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team. As a Commis I you will support kitchen operations and contribute to exceptional dining experiences.
- Assist in preparation and cooking of dishes according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation.
- Support senior chefs in menu planning and food presentation.
- Participate in daily kitchen briefings and team meetings.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation.
- Contribute to development of new recipes and menu items as directed.
- Perform basic food prep tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under experienced chefs.
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent communication skills in English. - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer skills for using kitchen management systems.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Time management and organizational skills.
