Job Description

Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team. As a Commis I you will support kitchen operations and contribute to exceptional dining experiences.

  • Assist in preparation and cooking of dishes according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation.
  • Support senior chefs in menu planning and food presentation.
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and team meetings.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Contribute to development of new recipes and menu items as directed.
  • Perform basic food prep tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under experienced chefs.
Qualifications
  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills for using kitchen management systems.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
