General Manager, Bakery & Food Manufacturing
Our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing sector, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of their Bakery Manufacturing Unit and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of other food-related business units
. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food manufacturing, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record in scaling operations, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality product standards.
- Provide overall strategic direction and leadership to the bakery and other food manufacturing units.
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with corporate goals to achieve profitability, growth, and sustainability.
- Identify market opportunities and lead the expansion of product lines and operations.
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources to achieve production targets and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor KPIs across production, safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget and ensure cost controls across all units.
- Analyze financial statements and operational reports to drive decisions.
- Ensure profitability and growth of each food business unit.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of department heads and staff.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with HR for recruitment, retention, and talent development.
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and health regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and quality control in all units.
- Lead sustainability and environmental initiatives.
- Liaise with key clients, suppliers, and partners to foster relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support business growth initiatives and product positioning.
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback to improve offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Strong experience in bakery production and food industry operations is essential.
- Proven expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE food regulations, standards, and business environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Based in the UAE with potential travel to different manufacturing locations and partner sites.
- Fast-paced, dynamic work environment requiring agility and hands-on involvement.
