Senior CNC Lathe Operator

The Senior CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, programming, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The role requires advanced technical expertise, strong quality awareness, and the ability to guide junior operators while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

• Set up, operate, and program CNC lathe machines (Fanuc / Siemens / Haas or equivalent).
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM data accurately.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters.
• Perform manual and automatic program adjustments to optimize cycle time and quality.
• Conduct trial runs and first-article inspections.

• Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, calipers, gauges, and bore meters.
• Identify defects, take corrective action, and document non-conformities.
• Maintain consistent quality in line with ISO 9001 standards.

• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Identify tooling wear, machine faults, or programming errors and resolve efficiently.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs or calibration.

• Meet daily and monthly production targets while minimizing scrap and downtime.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.

• Guide and mentor junior CNC operators and machinists.
• Support training and skills development within the workshop.
• Ensure adherence to company safety rules, ISO 45001, and workshop procedures.

• Follow all workplace health and safety policies at all times.
• Use PPE correctly and promote a safe working environment.
• Comply with company policies, UAE Labour Law requirements, and internal procedures.

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Operator, with senior-level exposure.
• Strong knowledge of CNC controls.
• Experience working in fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments.
• Advanced CNC lathe setup and programming skills
• Strong blueprint and GD&T interpretation
