Assistant Technician; Fresh Concrete

Overview

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Assistant Laboratory Technician to support our site operations. You will be responsible for sampling, testing, and transportation of fresh concrete specimens. This is a vital role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the samples.

This position will be based in Dubai, UAE (Site Based).

• On-Site Assistance:
  Support the Senior Technician in collecting fresh concrete samples from mixers according to ASTM/BS or BSEN methods
• Workability Testing:
  Prepare equipment and assist in performing Slump Tests and Temperature Checks for every batch
• Molding & Casting:
  Help cast concrete cubes and cylinders; ensure molds are cleaned, oiled, and properly assembled before use
• Specimen Management:
  Safely transport heavy concrete specimens from the site to the curing tanks
• Curing Tank Maintenance:
  Ensure curing tanks are filled, clean, and maintained at the required temperature of 22°C to 25°C
• Equipment Care:
  Clean all testing tools (slump cones, rods, base plates) immediately after use to prevent concrete buildup
• General Housekeeping:
  Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment

• Physical Strength:
  Must be able to lift and carry concrete molds and equipment (up to 25kg) throughout the day
• Reliability:
  Strong work ethic and punctuality, as site testing must happen exactly when the concrete arrives
• Communication:
  Basic English to follow instructions and label specimens accurately
