Overview

This is not a tick-box function;
the candidate will connect business concepts and objectives with commercial risk. HOERM will undertake a variety of risk management activities and liaise with IA on reviews including commercial, strategy, projects and programmes, finance, accounting, compliance, IT and operations. GIA, R & C has a high organisational profile and the candidate will be expected to develop relationships at the Senior Executive level and to quality assure the work completed by risk managers and professionals.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a proven record for owning and delivering a high-quality active ERM framework, initiative, problem solving and thought leadership who can support Leadership in delivering the mission, vision and strategic plan for the group of businesses.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of the ERM strategy.
- Build and deliver the ERM strategy and related framework to ISO 31000 standard and IRM standards.
- Stakeholder relationship management: build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, including senior stakeholders, to understand requirements, partner with them and add value.

- Project management and delivery of the ERM Plan, actively managing the RM functions across the BU boundaries.
- Understand the business, key drivers and risk context; regularly engage with senior leaders to understand needs and perspectives.
- Influence and communicate effectively with strategic thinking and commercial acumen; develop partnerships with senior leaders.
- Demonstrate a customer-centric service attitude; articulate the relevance of risk work to AGI priorities and benefits.
- Act as an ambassador for AGI and the ERM function; manage end-to-end ERM processes including planning, workshops, fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct performance appraisals after business assignments and provide reporting inputs on risk, control, process and change.
- Talent management: develop and motivate the team to optimise performance.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to become future business leaders; foster teamwork, transparency and accountability.
- Lead by example, ensure well-defined personal development and conduct full performance appraisals after audits.

Certifications:
- MINIMUM:
Degree and IRM qualifications (all independently confirmed by Group VP IA & R prior to offer letter).
- Proven track record of ownership and delivery of large and complex ERM frameworks in a corporate environment.
- Ambitious, driven with a proven track record of success; strong commercial acumen and business insight.
- Proven leadership skills; ability to think strategically and be a thought leader.
- Strong interpersonal, people management and teamwork skills; strong analytical abilities.
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication; attention to detail with big-picture perspective.
- Problem solving, solution-building, initiative and proactiveness; excellent MS Excel/Word/Visio/PowerPoint and data analysis skills.
- MINIMUM: 12+ years of experience;
Big 4 trained & qualified; blue-chip employer/clients; international experience in mature CG environments (Europe, UK, US, SA, Australasia, with Middle East/GCC desirable).
