Key Purpose

The post holder will lead, manage, and be accountable for tracking progress, considering curriculum planning, supporting the Behaviour for Learning Policy and speaking with parents to promote the fulfilment of the school’s vision.

Responsibilities
  • Articulate a vision for the Key Stage in the context of the school’s ethos and vision.
  • Lead, manage, coordinate, maintain, develop, monitor and evaluate the progress made for children within the Key Stage.
  • Make a full contribution to the processes of planning, resource management, policy development and implementation across the school through the effective leadership and management of the specific Key Stage.
  • Make a full contribution to ensuring high expectations and standards in all aspects of school life.
  • Work flexibly in supporting the day-to-day organisation and management of the school.
  • Be accountable to the relevant Senior Leader and ultimately the Principal/CEO.
  • Contribute to the school’s Performance Development Programme where appropriate.
  • Promote and ensure student development, progress and well-being.
  • Lead teaching and learning and manage policy within the context of the Year group.
  • Lead and manage people and teams.
  • Manage resources.
  • Promote and represent the Key Stage to the whole school and wider community.
  • Ensure the promotion of the High Performance Learning framework and support the formal HPL accreditation process.
  • Support transition arrangements through the school and promote equitable opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to the code of conduct and dress code, and maintain good behaviour in classrooms and around the school.
  • Set progress targets in liaison with the Head of School and analyse trends for improvement.
  • Engage in professional development and training for staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of decisions, meetings, interviews and correspondence.
  • Oversee finance and resources to support the Key Stage.
  • Plan and monitor expenditure, procure resources, control costs, deploy support staff time and maintain accurate inventories.
  • Foster a positive ethos and inclusive environment.
Skills and Qualifications

UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a prerequisite for all appointments.
