Senior Commercial Manager

• Support the EVP - Development Projects in defining and executing the commercial strategy for all development projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets.
• Oversee the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, financial tracking, and reporting. Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deviations are managed proactively.
• Identify potential commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard project objectives. Proactively address financial and contractual risks before they escalated.
• Use BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud to analyse project costs, track expenditure, and generate data-driven insights to inform decision-making. Ensure that cost data is accurate, timely, and accessible to stakeholders.
• Lead value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising on quality or design intent. Work closely with design, procurement, and construction teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee the preparation and negotiation of final accounts for all contractors and consultants, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with contractual agreements.
• Oversee the administration of all contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and project specifications.
• Act as the lead negotiator for variations, claims, and contractual disputes. Ensure negotiations foster collaboration and maintain the integrity of the project’s commercial objectives.
• Ensure all commercial activities are compliant with local regulations, industry standards, and internal governance policies. Maintain a thorough understanding of FIDIC and other relevant contractual frameworks.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in commercial management or quantity surveying, with a proven track record in delivering large-scale development projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, value engineering, and contract administration with an ability to analyse complex financial and contractual data to drive informed decision‑making.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and foster a collaborative approach to achieving project objectives. Strong negotiation skills to manage disputes and claims effectively.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities, mitigate risks, and resolve issues proactively.
• Proficient in leveraging technology and digital tools to optimise commercial workflows and improve data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex commercial matters clearly and persuasively.
