A little taste of your day-to-day:
Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Engineering in planning and managing the department’s budget, capital projects, and energy conservation programs.
- Supervise daily engineering operations, including maintenance of hotel systems, electrical equipment, HVAC, plumbing, lifts, and fire safety systems.
- Lead and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment lifespan.
- Monitor, assign, and follow up on maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion and quality results.
- Oversee and inspect work performed by engineering staff and external contractors for compliance and efficiency.
- Support development and execution of emergency response procedures and disaster management protocols.
- Conduct daily inspections of hotel areas to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs and initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts; oversee procurement and storage in coordination with purchasing.
- Foster a positive, safety-oriented working environment encourages teamwork, training, and proactive problem-solving.
- Act on behalf of the Director of Engineering during their absence, ensuring smooth department operations.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance issues, ensuring a swift and professional resolution.
- Uphold Inter Continental Hotels & Resorts brand standards, safety regulations, and sustainability targets.

- Technical, Vocational, or Trade School Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel engineering or maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, electrical, mechanical, and life safety equipment.
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and energy management systems in a hotel environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving ability and capacity to perform under pressure.
