The Legal Counsel – Legislation provides comprehensive legal support to Dubai Chambers’ affairs, addressing the legal needs of internal and external clients while safeguarding the Chamber’s legal, regulatory, and governance interests. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws through effective legal advisory, contract drafting and negotiation, legislative review, and compliance oversight, while supporting informed decision-making, risk mitigation, and business-aligned legislative positions.
LegalDocumentation & Negotiation
- Managing the drafting and reviewing of Chamber contracts / agreements and other legal documentation, to preserve legal interests of the Chamber, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, domestic and international laws, rules and regulations.
- Communicating and negotiating with contracted parties to strengthen the Dubai Chamber’s legal rights & position and ensure that the agreement terms serve in the Dubai Chamber’s best interest.
- Manage the provision of accurate, timely and proactive expert legal advice to the internal departments of the Chamber, to minimize legal risks / implications and aid in management decision making.
- Reviewing, drafting, and analyzing and providing expert legal advice to ensure that proposed laws and legal reforms are aligned with the interests of the business community. It involves active engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including government entities, to develop well-informed legislative positions.
- Work on the compliance framework, conclude compliance audits and ensure compliance with the applicable laws.
- Executing and supporting all tasks related to legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, policies, and internal procedures.
- Assist in monitoring compliance requirements and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Assist in managing and organizing legal events (training, seminars, workshops, etc.) to promote and raise awareness of various legal issues that affect businesses and support their development.
- 4 - 6 years of proven experience with focus on business and commercial laws
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate procedures
- Knowledge and expertise in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)
- High command of Arabic and English (spoken and written)
