Associate Engineer​/Data Center Support

Overview

We are looking for an Associate Engineer to ensure the operational excellence and technical reliability of our colocation services, translating complex data center requirements into seamless infrastructure support and high-quality technical solutions.

Job Purpose:

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Data Center technologies, systems, standards, operations and procedures related to eHosting service. Administrate a regional data center and ensure proper monitoring and support provided to data center customers. Provide technical guidance and support to other Data Center staff in order to give efficient and proficient support to Data Center customers.

• Ensure efficient and proficient support to Data Center customers (24/7).
• Ensure proper monitoring of all Data Center services and proper reporting for any abnormality or problems to concerned sections and management.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, incident reports, and customer interactions.
• Preparing reports on facility status, maintenance activities, and customer support metrics for management review.
• Coordinate all activities required for provisioning new Data Centre customer service orders.
• Provide onsite support to customers and provide technical support to other DCS team members in order to give efficient and proficient support to Data Center customers.
• Ensure the quality of all installation’s activities done by customer, vendor, and Partner and Etisalat staff.
• Respond efficiently to customer technical requirements through available tools (email, phone, online portal, etc) and take necessary action based on customer request and follow-up the cases till closed.
• Assist in implementing appropriate working procedures, standards and guidelines for Data Center Operations functions to ensure prompt, efficient and reliable infrastructure and eHosting solutions support to Data Center customers.
• Demonstrate awareness and concern for quality standards, security guidelines and safety regulations.
• Provide Basic and Advanced Remote Hand services to customers, partners and Etisalat internal departments.
• Undertakes full responsibility of all equipment in his area. Perform any other related duties as required. Maintain updated records
• Respond to any internal/external customer’s query in coordination with all concerned.
• Provide various network cable Patching requirements such as UTP cables patching from customer racks to CPP, interconnect Fiber patching cords…etc.
• Direct Report/Escalate to the onsite supervisor and Management in case of any major activates, customer violation, emergency, major planned or unplanned outages/Hazardous.
• Assist customer in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting efforts to quick/resolve reported faults in his hosted setup.
• Ensure that all ISMS policies and procedures are compiled and adhered to for all data center support and operational processes.
• Maintain adequate level of all required logistics items for customer support purposes.
• Provide Various DC cross-connect services to hosting customers.

Mandatory

• Good Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Good Understanding of Internet/Computer Security
• Good Understanding of Computer Hardware and cable structuring work.
• Cabling Capability to lay, joint and terminate UTP, Fiber, Coaxial, ..etc.
• Basic data center infrastructure knowledge
• Capability to handle critical network component such as switch, firewall, router, Simplified with MS Windows Server & LINUX.

Preferred

• Installation Quality Standard
• Certified in CCNA.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Computer or Electronic Engineering or equivalent

• 3 years of experience in the field of data center operations, computer communication and networking. Good practical knowledge of “Best Practices” within Data Center environment.
