Strategy Director

place maker. is hiring on behalf of a leading regional agency for a strategy director to shape brand-level thinking across a diverse client portfolio. this role sits at the intersection of insight, culture, and creativity, turning data into direction and ideas into measurable impact. you’ll partner closely with senior clients and internal teams to define where brands go next, and why it matters.

• lead brand-level strategy across multiple sectors, grounding creative ambition in clear business and brand objectives
• own senior-level strategic conversations with clients, offering sharp, actionable guidance that drives growth
• work hand-in-hand, media, and client teams to turn strategy into integrated, effective work
• steer research and insight projects, from social listening and audience segmentation to competitive and cultural analysis
• turn complex signals, data, and trends into simple, compelling brand narratives and strategic direction
• stay ahead of cultural, social, and digital shifts, using them to inform both client work and agency thinking
• support new business with strong strategic thinking, clear storytelling, and confident presentations
• partner with leadership to grow accounts and spot new opportunities
• build, mentor, and challenge a high-performing strategy team
• set the bar for the quality, clarity, and impact of strategic output across the agency

• a proven background leading brand strategy within an agency environment
• someone equally comfortable with data, culture, and creative conversations
• a confident client presence who can influence senior stakeholders
• strong regional understanding and cultural fluency
• experience working with government or semi-government entities is a plus
