As the Head of Data Engineering, you will spearhead the design and development of cutting‑edge data ecosystems that power real‑time insights, advanced analytics, and AI‑driven initiatives. You will work closely with senior technology and business leadership to define the enterprise data vision and translate it into robust, scalable architectures. Leading a high‑performing engineering team, you will drive best practices in data governance, security, modeling, and pipeline engineering across cloud‑native environments.
The role provides the opportunity to shape foundational data capabilities in a fintech that is investing heavily in digital transformation. This is a strategic, hands‑on leadership role with visibility at the executive level and significant long‑term growth potential.
- Define and execute the company’s enterprise‑wide data engineering strategy
- Architect scalable batch and real‑time data pipelines across cloud platforms
- Lead the design and implementation of data lakes and data warehouses (Snowflake, Big Query, or Redshift)
- Oversee ETL/ELT frameworks, data modeling standards, and workflow orchestration
- Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and security best practices
- Build, mentor, and scale a high‑performing data engineering team
- Partner with AI, Analytics, and Product teams to enable advanced data‑driven capabilities
- Drive continuous optimization, innovation, and automation across the data ecosystem
- 12–15 years of experience in data engineering, with significant exposure to large‑scale systems
- 5+ years in senior leadership or head‑of‑function roles
- Expert‑level experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and dbt
- Proven experience designing cloud‑native enterprise data architectures
- Background in fintech, digital banking, or large‑scale digital platforms (strongly preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and architectural decision‑making skills
- Experience working in regulated financial environments
- Knowledge of MLOps, feature stores, or AI infrastructure
- Exposure to data mesh or distributed data product architectures
- Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience scaling teams in high‑growth or hyper‑scale environments
