Job Title
Cloudera Administrator
Job ScopeWe are seeking an experienced Cloudera Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our Cloudera big data platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Cloudera CDP
, Hadoop ecosystem administration, cluster management, performance tuning, security, and production support. This role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to ensure high availability, stability, and scalability of the data platform.
- Install, configure, and administer Cloudera CDP clusters (on‑prem or cloud).
- Perform regular cluster maintenance, upgrades, patches, and hotfix deployments.
- Monitor cluster performance, resource utilization, and ensure high availability.
- Manage and optimize core Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Zoo Keeper, Impala, etc.).
- Troubleshoot node failures, service downtime, performance bottlenecks, and configuration issues.
- Implement and manage cluster security:
Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry, SSL, and role‑based access. - Set up and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Work closely with development teams to support data pipelines, jobs, and workloads running on the cluster.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and security standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cluster architecture, topology, and changes.
- Support automation and scripting for operational efficiency (bash, Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Participate in on‑call rotation for production support and incident response.
- Create and maintain documentation for the platform’s low‑ and high‑level design and other architecture and operational related aspects.
- Strong hands‑on experience as a Cloudera Administrator (CDH/CDP).
- Deep understanding of Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, HBase, Zoo Keeper, Oozie, Impala).
- Experience managing large‑scale, distributed data systems
. - Proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Strong experience troubleshooting cluster issues and optimizing performance.
- Hands‑on experience with Kerberos
, Ranger/Sentry, LDAP/AD integrations. - Scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar).
- Knowledge of networking concepts, load balancing, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field.
Experience- Cloudera certifications (CCAH, CCAH, CCA Administrator, or CDP Administrator).
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Cloudera Manager).
- Exposure to Kafka, NiFi, or data ingestion frameworks.
