Senior Product Mgr - Technical, Amazon Music - CX Infrastructure

The Amazon Music Customer eXperience Infrastructure (CXI) team enables Amazon Music to deliver the best audio experience across devices and modalities, with lowest cost and shortest time to market. We work to eliminate complexity for our partners, making their efforts simpler, faster, and more efficient. We’re looking for a Sr PM-T to own Stability and Performance for AM music’s experiences across devices, as well as to own Amazon Music’s Testing and Automation tools.

Amazon Music’s range of devices include mobile apps, web experiences, big-screens, wearables, connected speakers, and third-party integrations. Our vision is to deliver a best-in-class, multi-device experience that is reliable, fast, and friction‑less across this cohesive, cross‑client audio landscape. We’ve seen repeatedly that performance and stability improvements can drive not only customer satisfaction, but also growth and business impact. Our team is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Technical to own and drive efforts across clients to improve and maintain the highest possible bar for Testing Automation tools, Stability and Performance.

This is an opportunity to lead our strategy to redefine what a best‑in‑class audio streaming experience can be across all clients, and to establish Amazon Music as the highest‑quality audio streaming experience in the world.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Product Manager, Technical on the Amazon Music Customer Experience Infrastructure team, you will partner with stakeholders and contributors (including partners, developers, technical program managers, analysts, and engineers in test) to design and align on test tooling, stability and performance roadmap and goals. You will start by developing a comprehensive understanding of customer expectations and aspirations around testing tools, quality, stability, performance, and accessibility for a cross‑device, connected music streaming service.

You will draft documents to describe plans, goals, and solutions including PR FAQs, annual and quarterly plans, feature requirements, resourcing asks, and more. You will analyze data, develop insights, and be the resident expert in understanding the relationship between KPIs in stability performance, and KPIs for customer satisfaction, engagement, retention, and other business impacts. You will develop and enforce policies to prevent degradation and federate distribution of goal achievement across teams.

You will write feature requirements, review technical designs, and work across teams to craft disruptive solutions for complex problems. You will conduct experiments and analyze and report results, strategically developing proof of insights that change and steer downstream investments and strategies/deliverables. You will evangelize and report on tools roadmap and QS&P areas in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews.

You will seek out potential new customers of our testing automation tools beyond Amazon Music.

A day in the life

You join the morning scrum with the latency team, where you stay informed of progress and updates from teams executing on your roadmap, and you chime in to help with prioritization. Before lunch you make progress on a PR FAQ for an exciting new effort as part of annual planning for next year. After lunch you review promising experiment results from a new feature.

You share the early results with the team to give an early glimpse of the impact of their work. In a doc review you give feedback to help a colleague. After work you take the Amazon shuttle home.
