Head of Engineering - AI-Driven Digital Asset Platform (Trad Fi, Quants, Blockchain)
Head of/CTO/Lead - call it whatever you like, this is the first hire to lead technical efforts for the business and build the team - reporting to the Founder
I’m supporting a stealth-mode startup building a next-generation AI-driven digital asset platform. To kick things off, we’re looking for a CTO / Head of Engineering with a Co-Founder mentality (not a Co-Founder role, but with considerable equity). First hire on the ground in Dubai.
The company is combining tokenised Trad Fi products, algorithmic trading, and blockchain infrastructure for global markets. This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture, strategy, and execution of a platform from scratch and drive real impact across emerging markets.
What You’ll Do- Architect and scale AI, trading, and blockchain systems from the ground up
- Lead a high-performance, multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Drive innovation across tokenisation, DeFi, derivatives, and automated trading
- Operate with a startup mentality - wear multiple hats, move fast, and focus on long-term upside
- Collaborate closely with founders to shape technology strategy and product vision
- Build API-driven systems to accelerate time-to-market while integrating AI, blockchain, and quantitative analytics
- Proven experience designing and scaling complex AI, quantitative, and blockchain systems
- Deep knowledge of tokenisation, digital asset management, DeFi, derivatives, and automated trading systems
- Ability to turn vision into actionable architecture, iterating quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Startup-ready: durable, flexible, hands-on, and willing to wear multiple hats
- Strong collaborator who can align technical execution with commercial strategy and investor expectations
- Experience building API-driven systems to get products to market quickly
- Thrives on long-term impact and upside - this shouldn’t be viewed as a 9-5 role
- Early-mover advantage in emerging markets (GCC, South America, Africa, Europe).
- Significant equity upside in a company targeting $150M+ valuation over the next 3 years

- Founded by a recently exited founder (the leading Fintech in their home country) with extensive financial, investment, and industry connections
