Overview
Senior IT Engineer - IT / OT (Airline or Aviation) — contract role in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role supports and delivers IT and OT infrastructure for a client based in Dubai, within a large regional organization. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and is renewable based on performance. The role sits within the Infrastructure Operations Department and reports to the Senior Manager – Infrastructure Technology.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with engineering services and technology subject matter experts to ensure compliance with defined technology standards during design and implementation.
- Liaise with solution architects to ensure system designs meet functional and technical requirements.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure designs meet security, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Engage with project stakeholders to capture, validate, and translate requirements into technical designs and delivery scope.
- Support project planning activities, including review of phasing, logistics, and implementation schedules.
- Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture principles and approved standards.
- Review technical and project documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved designs.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, acceptance, and handover activities from vendors to operations teams.
- Participate in lessons-learned workshops and contribute to post-project reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of overall IT/OT experience, with 5–7 years in a relevant infrastructure or engineering systems role.
- Strong experience in IT infrastructure, OT systems, and large industrial or aviation or airport environments.
- Hands-on experience in Networking (LAN/WAN), servers, and virtualization platforms
- SCADA, HMI, PLC integrations, and industrial protocols
- Cybersecurity controls, redundancy, failover planning, and risk mitigation
- IT/OT convergence and system integrations
- Technology standardization and migration initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder coordination, communication, and project support skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or within a maximum of 30 days after accepting the offer.
