The Storekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth inventory management and supply flow for hotel operations. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong coordination with various departments to support the hotel’s daily activities.
Responsibilities- Inspect and verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy in quantity and quality.
- Ensure received items meet hotel quality standards; document and report discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct stock checks, and update databases.
- Organize and store items properly to prevent spoilage, damage, and ensure easy access.
- Keep detailed records of receipts, returns, and adjustments for auditing.
- Coordinate with departments such as kitchen and housekeeping for inventory needs and timely replenishment.
- Communicate with suppliers on deliveries, returns, and stock issues.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe storeroom.
- Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices to minimize waste and preserve freshness.
- Prepare reports on usage, discrepancies, and stock levels for management.
- Develop procedures for emergencies, including handling hazardous materials or supply disruptions.
- Assess supplier performance on quality, reliability, and pricing to support continuous improvement.
