A Pharmacist is responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication use. They achieve this by accurately executing physicians' orders or assessing and addressing patients' medication-related needs. Additionally, they provide guidance on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions, contributing to optimal patient care. Pharmacists also play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, managing inventory, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance overall treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities- Review and execute physician’s prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legality
- Detect therapeutic incompatibilities and resolve them in collaboration with prescribers
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Provide drug information and education to the patients
- Educate patients on medication use, storage, side effects, and interactions
- Listen carefully to patients to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
- Help with other medical services such as injections, blood pressure measurements, and temperature measurements
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Maintain full control over delivering, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiry or deterioration
- Support and participate in scheduled cycle counts and physical inventory according to organization protocol
- Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
- Handle payment collection from patients in a responsible manner, ensuring correct allocation of received payment and deposit to the finance team
- Ensuring all deposits and outstanding collections are settled in a timely manner
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy
- Registered as a Pharmacist with DHA
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in similar field desired in a hospital or clinic set up
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.
- Highly self-motivated with strong internal work standards; sets realistic goals for self and supports others in achieving team objectives.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, ensuring goals are met in dynamic environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage unexpected issues and identify when to escalate.
- Maintains professional and personal credibility across all staff groups.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
