Boehringer Ingelheim is looking for an Occupational Health Specialist IMETA. This role will be responsible for leading and managing Occupational Health (OH) and safety programs across the IMETA region, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with global standards. The role will drive preventive health initiatives, wellness programs, and digital health solutions to promote employee well‑being.
This role will report to the Head of GFE IMETA.
Responsibilities- Lead and continuously improve the Occupational Health program and initiatives, while promoting a strong safety and health culture as a role model. Collaborate with global EHS (Environment Health & Safety), HR, and cross‑functional teams to implement awareness campaigns and adapt Occupational Health Management within GFE.
- Enhance OH & Safety maturity by creating awareness content, delivering targeted training programs, and driving continuous improvement. Collaborate with teams to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices.
- Monitor and report key OH & Safety metrics and support automating processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OH and safety regulations by conducting audits, maintaining audit‑readiness, and mitigating risks. Provide guidance during health crises and ensure alignment with regulatory standards and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with HR and other regional EHS teams to design and implement/lead wellness campaigns, including Health Navigator (HN) and safety multiplier trainings across ROPU IMETA. Promote work‑life balance, ergonomics, and mental health support through employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to EHS legislations, ISO standards, and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations. Stay updated on regulatory requirements to drive the development and improvement of standards and processes.
- Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in environmental, Health and Safety, Pharmaceutics, Environmental Studies, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in EHS or OH or medical practice.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of EHS and OH requirements and regulations.
- International experience and multi‑cultural sensitivity would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in managing behavior‑based safety programs.
- Team player with strong communication and project management skills.
- Agility, innovation, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
