OverviewAs an Admin Coordinator
, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Manager relating to the function of medical services for the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the department.
- Liaise and coordinate with the HR Shared Services team regarding onboarding and Medical Benefits eligibility for employees and their dependents, where applicable.
- Respond to and communicate effectively with queries from internal and external stakeholders regarding the current medical benefits policy. Record and disseminate information to provide a high level of service in line with published terms, conditions and procedures.
- Administer online databases in line with published terms and data privacy regulations.
- Investigate, coordinate and escalate any complaints from internal or external stakeholders on medical service delivery or medical benefit issues.
- Produce and issue standard letters relating to member insurance and service provider correspondence.
- Provide consistent and accurate customer service to eligible members via email or telephone, managing queries within agreed turnaround times using published resources to maintain quality.
- Obtain prior approval for medical treatment. Review medical reports, referrals and treatment plans to confirm coverage per policy terms.
- Provide accurate approval authorisations and guidance to contracted medical providers.
- Communicate with members and providers regarding pre-approval status and terms.
- Manage emergency telephone approvals and confirm cover based on individual medical history, medical reports and treatment plans.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent), preferably in Nursing, Pharmacy or an equivalent medical-related field.
- Experience in medical or medical safety administration.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in a medical insurance field.
- Clinical medical experience.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
