Your new job includesWe are expanding our team in Dubai and are purposefully strengthening our local External Affairs setup to actively help shape the political and regulatory framework for Ge . Heinemann’s business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, build strategic stakeholder relationships, and assess regional developments relevant to the travel retail business.
In your role as Senior External Affairs Manager MEA (m/f/d), you will be based in Dubai and work closely with both the local team and the External Affairs team at our headquarters in Germany.
YourKey Responsibilities Include
- Strategic stakeholder management in the MEA region:
Building, maintaining and managing relationships with political decision-makers, regulators, authorities, diplomatic representations and industry associations - Representation and advocacy:
Representing Ge . Heinemann’s interests vis‑à‑vis political and regulatory stakeholders, including the independent conception, steering and execution of political projects, initiatives and events with regional relevance - Analysis and assessment:
Monitoring, analyzing and assessing geopolitical and regulatory developments in the MEA region as well as in the global Travel‑Retail industry - Advocacy strategies:
Developing and implementing advocacy strategies to manage regulatory risks, safeguard the business and enable growth - Complex stakeholder environments:
Managing complex stakeholder constellations and situational political challenges in an intercultural context - Top management advisory:
Advising top management on political and regulatory matters with a focus on MEA, as well as preparing position papers, management briefings and strategic recommendations
- 7–10 years of experience in Government Relations / Public Affairs, ideally within the GCC/MEA environment
- Proven experience and established networks with regulators, ministries and political stakeholders across the MEA region
- Strong strategic expertise in advocacy, lobbying and stakeholder management
- Analytical capability to assess complex regulatory and geopolitical developments and derive clear, actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication skills combined with extensive experience in drafting position papers and management briefings
- High level of seniority and autonomy, with proven experience advising and working closely with top management
- Strong intercultural sensitivity and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts effectively in stakeholder management
