The Head of Government Relations is responsible for developing and managing the organisation’s relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and public institutions. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitates government approvals, and represents the company in matters relating to public policy and external affairs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the government relations strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government entities, ministries, regulators, and local authorities.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and policies that may impact the organisation.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on regulatory, compliance, and policy matters.
- Lead all licensing, permits, registrations, and statutory approvals required for business operations.
- Represent the organisation in meetings, forums, and discussions with government officials.
- Support business units in obtaining regulatory clearances and resolving government-related issues.
- Ensure full compliance with local labour laws, commercial regulations, and industry standards.
- Manage PRO and government liaison teams (if applicable).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Policy, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8–15 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong understanding of UAE government systems and regulatory frameworks.
- Established network with key government authorities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
