Financial Controller (Group of Companies)

The Company:

Our client is a well-established company with a rich 75-year history of success across various sectors. They are part of a diverse group of companies with a strong presence in construction, oil and gas, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and related industries.

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic team.

This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of a multi-company group, based within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive financial leadership and oversight for a group of companies.
• Develop and implement effective financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Manage the entire financial reporting cycle for all group entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS or US GAAP).
• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
• Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, including accountants and analysts.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee internal controls and ensure adherence to best practices in financial risk management.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures to optimize financial performance.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior financial management role, preferably within a group of companies.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multi-entity financial operations.
• Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
• In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading and motivating a team of finance professionals.
• Proficient in financial accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A results-oriented and detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English is required;
  Arabic fluency is an advantage.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: AED 25,000 - AED 35,000 per month (competitive and commensurate with experience)
