Associate Manager – Finance (Financial Controller)

The Associate Manager – Finance (Financial Controller) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a reliable financial reporting framework in line with internal policies and procedures. The role supports monitoring the achievement of store objectives and provides accurate financial insights to stakeholders to support effective decision-making. The role holder also identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends actions to help the store achieve its financial and operational targets.

• Monitor the store’s allocated budget to ensure compliance with financial guidelines and identify potential variances or issues.
• Support the preparation and planning of the store budget by providing relevant financial inputs.
• Recommend and support initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs and improving financial efficiency.

• Ensure the store maintains appropriate and adequate insurance coverage.
• Monitor financial aspects of contracts to ensure compliance and timely renewal.

• Ensure store processes are aligned with finance policies and internal procedures.
• Maintain and regularly review the fixed asset register to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure payroll processes are completed accurately and within required timelines.
• Monitor supplier payment terms and ensure adherence to agreed financial conditions.
• Oversee stock checks, monitor slow-moving inventory, receiving controls, and analyse shrinkage results.
• Conduct audits on cash control operations (CCO) to mitigate cash flow risks and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure the proper implementation of internal audit recommendations.
• Support the development and execution of finance strategies that align with the company’s broader corporate and business objectives.
