Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Wio, we’re building a different kind of bank — digital-first, data-led, and responsibly bold.

We’re looking for a Retail Credit Underwriter who knows how to balance growth with discipline. Someone who understands that underwriting isn’t just about saying yes or no — it’s about making confident, well-documented decisions that protect customers and power sustainable lending.

If you thrive in structured environments, think analytically, and care about policy integrity — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Underwrite retail lending applications across Credit Cards, Personal Loans, and Auto Loans in line with Wio’s credit policy and UAE regulatory standards.
  • Apply strong judgment using AECB data, income verification, affordability assessments, and internal risk parameters.
  • Document every decision clearly and consistently — audit‑ready, structured, and policy‑aligned.
  • Operate within digital underwriting platforms and decision engines in a secure, controlled‑access environment.
  • Manage exceptions responsibly, escalating where required within governance frameworks.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Collections to deliver fast, seamless customer journeys — without compromising risk standards.
  • Identify early risk trends and share insights that help refine credit strategy and portfolio quality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting workflows and decision consistency.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of hands‑on retail underwriting experience within a UAE bank.
  • Direct exposure to:
    • Credit Cards
    • Personal Loans
    • Auto Loans
  • Strong understanding of the UAE retail lending ecosystem, including:
    • AECB bureau analysis
    • Central Bank retail lending regulations
    • Affordability assessment frameworks
    • Lending / LOS systems
  • A governance‑first mindset — disciplined documentation, policy interpretation, and exception handling.
  • Comfort working in digital systems and structured workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (Master’s preferred).
Nice to Have
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, basic dashboards).
  • Experience in a digital bank or fintech lending environment preferrably.
  • Exposure to decision engine logic or automation enhancements.
Why Wio?

Because we’re building responsibly.

Because we move fast — but we don’t cut corners.

Because credit decisions matter.

If you’re ready to underwrite with confidence, discipline, and impact — we’d love to hear from you.
