Overview
My client is a leading bank in the UAE who are seeking a Head of Finance to continue and expand the banks continuing growth and success within wholesale banking.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute a business development (sales) plan with the Representatives or Country Managers for assigned clients and prospects in-Market Report on and use market intelligence to capitalize on potential opportunities and to avoid possible pitfalls/manage bank country, and compliance risk.
- Focusing on consolidating and growing the portfolio for maximization of revenue.
- Monitoring the business operating environment with respect to market trends, interest rates, assets and liability positions, trade volume, credit facilities etc on an ongoing basis.
- To stay up to date with regulatory and other developments.
- To cross‑sell the bank's products.
- Deliver insightful and commercially‑focused analysis on financial and management information, including variances to budget, underlying business trends, and opportunities for income growth, cost savings and risks.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with key customer accounts and prospective customers to ensure business continuity and growth; expanding share of wallet from key clients.
- Manage key relationships which require higher level of expertise and experience.
- Effectively partner with other banking departments to ensure that client issues/problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner; develop and train staff.
- Support the business in the preparation of budget and forecasts, and provide input into strategic reviews, business cases and investment proposals.
- Conduct performance management processes for all team members; participate in annual budget planning processes; manage business within expense targets.
- Responsible for effectively managing and growing the bank's relationship with global banks to ensure competitive product offerings by key international partners.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Confident and capable of working credibly with the business at all levels including senior management.
- Strong analytical skills, including ability to understand inter‑relationships and interpret trends in financial data.
- University degree in Economics or Finance; ideally MBA in Finance / CIA / ACCA / CPA / CA. At least 10 years of relevant experience with preference to exposure in the GCC market.
- Experience of working in a complex financial institution including matrix management; most likely from a global bank or financial services/advisory firm.
- Management of a significant and diverse function with exposure to senior management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate and present across a diverse range of customers; in particular ability to communicate detailed financial information in a concise and straightforward way.
