Job Title - Commodities & Options Trader

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and market-driven Commodities & Options Trader to manage trading activities across commodity markets and derivatives instruments. The role involves executing trades, analyzing market trends, managing risk exposure, and maximizing returns through strategic trading decisions.

Key Responsibilities Trading Execution
  • Execute trades in physical commodities, futures, and options markets.
  • Monitor real-time market movements and respond to price fluctuations.
  • Manage positions across multiple exchanges and trading platforms.
  • Ensure timely trade confirmations, settlements, and documentation.
Market Analysis & Strategy
  • Analyze global commodity markets, supply-demand dynamics, and price trends.
  • Track geopolitical, economic, and industry developments impacting markets.
  • Develop short-term and long-term trading strategies.
  • Use technical and fundamental analysis to identify trading opportunities.
Risk Management
  • Monitor portfolio exposure and implement hedging strategies.
  • Set stop-loss levels and manage trading limits to minimize risk.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and trading mandates.
  • Prepare risk reports and performance summaries for management.
Options & Derivatives Trading
  • Structure and execute options strategies for hedging and speculation.
  • Evaluate volatility trends, pricing models, and option Greeks.
  • Manage spreads, straddles, and other structured derivative positions.
  • Monitor margin requirements and liquidity conditions.
Reporting & Coordination
  • Maintain daily trading logs and profit/loss tracking.
  • Coordinate with finance, compliance, and operations teams.
  • Provide market insights and trading performance updates.
  • Support strategy reviews and portfolio optimization discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in commodity trading, derivatives trading, or brokerage roles preferred.
  • Experience trading metals, energy, agriculture, or soft commodities is an advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of global commodity markets
  • Knowledge of futures, options, and derivatives pricing
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Risk management and portfolio monitoring ability
  • Proficiency in trading platforms, Excel, and market data tools
  • Ability to perform under pressure in fast-moving markets
