The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business finance partner to the Agency Management Team, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that optimize agency profitability and compliance.

Based at the client's Head office in Dubai, UAE, this role offers the opportunity to shape financial governance across a dynamic, international shipping network.

Responsibilities

Financial Performance & Analysis
Review and analyze comprehensive agency financial performance across the network, including disbursement accounts, port and terminal costs, agency fees and commissions, revenue collection, and administrative expenses. Conduct in-depth variance analysis of agency KPIs, identifying root causes behind financial trends and performance gaps. Prepare insightful management reports that translate financial data into strategic recommendations for the CFO and Agency Management Teams. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and treasury management across agencies to ensure financial stability.

Operational Excellence & Optimization
Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality across the agency network. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable financial impact. Challenge existing processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance profitability and productivity. Lead the standardization of financial definitions, accounting practices, and operational processes across the diverse agency network.

Provide expert guidance, training, and support to agency finance teams to elevate their financial management capabilities. Build strong collaborative relationships with agency managers, acting as a trusted advisor on financial matters. Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability building across the network.

Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years of managerial experience in finance/controlling roles within a large, reputable independent shipping agency, OR an agency owned by a container shipping line (This shipping agency background is mandatory). Independent position for at least 1-2 years, not only being one of many members of the controlling team. Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) is highly desirable.

Technical
