Role Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for leading month-end close activities in line with Group policies, strengthening financial controls, and delivering high-quality IFRS-compliant reporting. Acting as a strategic finance partner, the role supports business growth by optimising logistics costs, enabling customer financing and leasing solutions, and contributing to pricing and tender decisions for large B2B customers. The position plays a key role in improving cash flow, working capital efficiency, and financial governance across the business.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & ComplianceLead and deliver accurate monthly financial close in accordance with Group policies and IFRS standards
Review and approve monthly provisions, revenue recognition, costs, and expenses
Ensure full VAT compliance and adherence to internal SOPs and control frameworks
Liaise with Group Legal, HR, Admin, and Al Futtaim Group entities on finance-related matters
Review contracts for major B2B customers and actively support pricing and tender submissions
Partner with Al Futtaim Finance to structure and formalise customer financing solutions
Support leasing arrangements by working closely with Finance Sales teams
Analyse logistics and operational costs to support profitability and margin improvement
Improve cash flow through disciplined working capital management
Drive collections and resolve customer and intercompany reconciliation issues
Negotiate supplier payment terms to optimise cash and liquidity
Conduct unit order and inventory analysis to reduce aged and slow-moving stock
Manage SAP changes to ensure compliant invoice formats and accounting processes
Design and implement reporting enhancements and process improvementsintercompany
Review existing accounting policies and recommend improvements aligned with best practices
Lead, coach, and develop branch accountants and financial analysts
Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of KPIs
Build a high-performing finance team focused on efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Strong hands-on experience with IFRS and VAT compliance
Proven track record in month-end close, provisions, and financial controls
Advanced knowledge of SAP and core finance processes (AP, AR, Inventory, Petty Cash)
Experience in contract review, pricing strategies, and tender support for large B2B customers
Strong understanding of leasing and financing structures
Demonstrated success in working capital optimisation, collections, and reconciliation resolution
Experience leading and developing finance teams
Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Strong communication and problem-solving skills in a complex group environment
