Commercial Operations Officer Operations
MISSION
The Operations Officer plays a pivotal role within our trading and sales teams, overseeing the end-to-end operational lifecycle of precious metals transactions for both institutional and non-institutional clients. This is a client-facing, sales-support role that acts as a key operational partner to the Sales team, ensuring the seamless execution of physical and derivative transactions.
Working closely with Sales, Logistics, Treasury, Legal, and clients, the Operations Officer helps deliver a high-quality service experience while maintaining strong operational controls, accuracy, and compliance across all processes.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDaily commercial operations include deliveries, pricing, invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities will include:
Client-Facing & Sales Support
Serve as a primary operational counterpart to the Sales team, supporting them in client interactions and day-to-day commercial activity.
Participate in client communication, responding to operational inquiries, explanations, documentation requests, and issue resolution.
Provide clients with operational guidance, timelines, and transaction follow-up to ensure a smooth and professional service experience.
Support the customer onboarding process, gathering documentation and coordinating contract drafts with the Legal department.
Trade & Operational Execution
Book trades in internal systems with full accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Coordinate with the Logistics team to secure optimal execution of physical deliveries, and with Treasury for payment processing and follow-up.
Ensure correct and timely invoicing, and prepare all documents related to physical deliveries and derivatives transactions.
Risk Control & Reconciliation
Monitor and reconcile client trade accounts, market positions, collateral, inventories, and balances to mitigate operational, credit, and market risks.
Reconcile accounting system entries and external audit statements.
Manage collateral associated with hedging structures and derivatives exposure.
Documentation & Issue Resolution
Handle both incoming and outgoing Letters of Credit (Standby and Documentary).
Proactively identify, resolve, and escalate operational issues to ensure seamless client service and internal continuity.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or other relevant field.
- 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in a commodities trading house or financial institution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
