We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex financial transactions and provide strategic insights to support business objectives. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving financial performance and enhancing operational efficiency within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and internal controls to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts, providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit timely tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure the company remains compliant.
  • Utilize financial software and tools to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Preferred Candidate
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP) and MS Excel, with advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
