Field Engineer – Electrical Testing & Field Services
We are seeking a Field Engineer to join our Field Services team, supporting electrical testing projects across the power and energy sector.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with utilities, power generation facilities, and industrial clients
, performing advanced testing and diagnostics on critical electrical infrastructure
The successful candidate will play a key role in field testing, data collection, technical analysis, and reporting
, while also working closely with customers on-site to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently
- Support field testing projects, including coordination with the Field Services team and client communication.
- Perform electrical testing of equipment at utility substations, generation plants, and industrial facilities.
- Assist with online Partial Discharge (PD) testing and Site Acceptance Testing (commissioning) on medium and high voltage cables, transformers, and rotating machines.
- Conduct routine electrical testing of power equipment including cables, transformers, voltage regulators, bushings, and circuit breakers from manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens, Waukesha, and SMIT.
- Assist with inventory management and materials planning to ensure project readiness.
- Collect and pre-assess testing data in the field and communicate findings to senior engineers.
- Support the preparation of detailed technical reports following site testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
, or equivalent experience and training. - Familiarity with electrical substations, power plants, or heavy industrial environments
. - Experience using electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators
. - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office
. - Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers on-site
- Experience working with high-voltage testing equipment
, including resonant test systems. - Experience maintaining high-voltage assets in power generation or heavy industry.
- Familiarity with Partial Discharge (PD) testing equipment
. - Infrared thermography certification.
- OSHA or NFPA 70 training.
- Experience travelling for field engineering projects.
