Job Purpose

To perform all aspects of maintenance, ensuring the quality and safety of assigned tasks associated with the aircraft and components in accordance with the company EPM (Engineering Procedures Manual) and as per airworthiness/ regulatory requirements or international standards. To certify completed work within the scope of their approval on the appropriate legal documentation (i.e. Aircraft, Cabin & Tech Logs, work orders).
Responsibilities- Perform arrival, transit, and daily check inspections of EK aircraft in accordance with the approved EK Maintenance Schedule or certify a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS), Form 1, or task certification for these inspections and any subsequent rectification work completed.
- Carry out scheduled inspections, maintenance and repairs of all aircraft systems, structures, fixtures and fittings during scheduled services, letter checks, scheduled work packages and aircraft modification programmes in accordance with the approved EK Maintenance Schedule, and certify a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) for such work completed within the scope of approval held.
- Remove and replace aircraft parts or perform repairs or overhauls related to the assigned trade in accordance with relevant approvals. Ensure high standards of maintenance for aircraft systems, structures, cabin and furnishings to guarantee passenger safety and comfort. This includes the ability to obtain and interpret the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM) or other OEM or company‑approved documentation required to carry out the task.
Use testing and specialised equipment to maintain the aircraft/components to the highest standards of safety and airworthiness in accordance with OEM maintenance documentation. - Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by minimising risks, reporting deficiencies, and ensuring clean, organised work areas free of FOD. Regularly audit and maintain toolboxes, vehicles and equipment while complying with all airport safety regulations, including holding a valid Airport Driving Permit and adhering to manoeuvring area requirements where applicable.
- Contribute to team objectives and support continuous improvement initiatives through collaboration with colleagues
- Ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks to maximise ground time and prevent operational delays or disruptions. Obtain aircraft/component status briefings from the Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE), review reports and prepare work accordingly. Communicate any aircraft, component or structural defects to the LAE promptly and provide relevant information during shift handovers.
- Graduate in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training in aircraft maintenance with an approved organisation, reputable airline or approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
- Experience in an aircraft engineering environment, including a minimum of two years of on‑the‑job training in an airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
- Specific to Line & Base Maintenance Roles
- Holder of a UAE GCAA License on at least one EK aircraft in Category A, B1 or B2 completed, and/or formal training from an approved organisation relevant to EK IFE/Cabin products, and/or at least one EK Structures Approval.
