Jr. Project Engineer – Installation plays a key role in supporting the execution of elevator installation projects while ensuring compliance with Otis standards, safety policies, timelines, and customer expectations. The role requires hands‑on experience in elevator/lift installation, strong coordination skills, and the ability to manage site-level activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities 1. Project Execution & Site Management- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing installation activities for elevators as per Otis procedures and project timelines.
- Supervise installation teams and subcontractors to ensure safe and high‑quality execution at the site.
- Review installation drawings, technical documents, and material requirements prior to commencement of work.
- Monitor daily site progress and prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager.
- Implement Otis safety standards and ensure all site personnel follow safety regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments.
- Carry out quality checks during various stages of installation to ensure adherence to Otis quality protocols.
- Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, logistics, and quality to ensure seamless project execution.
- Liaise with customers, consultants, and main contractors regarding site readiness, technical issues, and progress updates.
- Attend project meetings and provide accurate technical inputs when required.
- Maintain site installation documentation including checklists, inspection reports, and safety records.
- Support the handover process by ensuring all installation activities are completed, tested, and certified as required.
- Assist in resolving site‑based technical issues and escalating complex issues to senior engineers or project managers.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in elevator/lift installation, preferably with a leading elevator company.
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical installation practices related to vertical transportation systems.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety practices, and local regulations.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and installation schematics.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for site coordination.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, reporting tools).
- Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Primarily site‑based role requiring daily presence at project sites.
- Occasional travel between multiple installation sites as required.
