AECOM Middle East is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Marine/Coastal Engineer with significant marine/coastal engineering design consultancy experience to join our team in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specific and moderate portions of broader assignments under the guidance of an experienced engineer.
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Propose solutions to new problems encountered by modifying standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in results.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
- Perform tasks independently to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
- Assist with project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients and collaborate closely with other engineering and modeling specialists.
- Ensure adherence to quality control procedures, maintaining AECOM's excellent reputation.
- Support business development activities.
- Participate in bidding, proposal preparation, and cost estimation.
- Support with project management and client relationship management.
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in coastal and marine engineering within a consultancy environment. Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in the design of coastal and marine structures, including: breakwaters, revetments, groynes, artificial beaches, quay walls, sheet pile walls, jetties, reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, etc.
- Experience in coastal modeling, including:
Met Ocean, wave transformation, wave penetration, hydrodynamic modeling, sediment transport, flushing, etc. - Proficiency in project management and client relationship management.
- Ability to prepare reports, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and specifications.
- Experience with relevant software, such as: MIKE 21, Swan, Delft 3D, SBEACH, GEO5, WALLAP, STAAD Pro, Tekla / SAP.
- Familiarity with key standards and guidelines, including:
The Rock Manual, British Standards, and Eurocodes for the design of coastal and marine structures. - Familiarity with construction supervision is an advantage.
- High-quality reporting skills and proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
- Master's degree in Coastal and Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
- Chartership and/or a PhD are considered a plus.
- Experience in the planning and design of coastal and marine structures.
- Experience in port and harbor planning and design.
