QC Welding Engineer

* Act as the PMC’s specialist representative for all welding-related quality matters on site.
* Ensure that all welding works are executed in accordance with:  + Contract specifications  + Approved drawings and method statements  + Approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)  + Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)  + Applicable international standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO, EN, BS)
* Monitor contractors’ compliance with approved welding procedures and quality requirements at all times.
* Ensure welding activities comply with project HSE requirements.
* Verify that contractors implement safe welding practices, including:  + Hot work permits  + Fire prevention measures  + Proper PPE usage  + Safe handling of gas cylinders and welding equipment
* Participate in safety audits and inspections as required.
* Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in welding inspection and quality control on large infrastructure or industrial projects.
* Proven experience on metro, railway, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
* Prior experience working within a PMC / Engineer / Supervision Consultant role is strongly preferred.
* Experience overseeing welding works by multiple contractors and subcontractors.
* Strong knowledge of international welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, ISO, EN).
* Familiarity with NDT methods, acceptance criteria, and reporting.
* Understanding of welding in structural steel, piping, and mechanical installations typical of metro projects.
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel).
* Ability to review drawings, WPS, and technical documents.
* Familiarity with document control and quality management systems.
* High attention to detail and strong quality mindset.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to work independently and assert quality requirements on site.
* Professional integrity and commitment to safety and quality.
