We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to lead and manage the design and approval processes for complex infrastructure projects across the Middle East, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, KSA, and Qatar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and dry utilities, with expertise in BIM, local authority guidelines, and end-to-end project delivery from concept to IFC stage.
This role requires exceptional technical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills to ensure the successful execution of multidisciplinary projects.
- Lead the design and approval process, interfacing with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Manage the development of master plans, including utility corridor space proofing, ROW coordination, and collaboration with wet, roads, transportation, landscape, and building teams.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and reports for authority approvals, ensuring compliance with local authority and town planning requirements.
- Oversee the design of electrical systems and dry utilities using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Project Wise, Infraworks, Navisworks, and BIM tools.
- Ensure the quality, safety, and accuracy of all deliverables, maintaining updated risk mitigation and design assumption registers.
- Develop master plan reports, demand load calculations, tie-in point requirements, and power supply master plans.
- Design and review dry utilities infrastructure, including MV, HV, and EHV corridors up to 400kV, as well as substations, feeder pillars, and LV networks.
- Prepare and review telecommunication infrastructure designs, including ducts, manholes, GSM tower requirements, and MMR/POP rooms.
- Design and review street lighting systems for all road types, including ROW, lighting calculations, SLDs, load schedules, and landscape lighting.
- Conduct power system studies using software such as ETAP, Amtech, and Dialux, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, harmonic analysis, and transient/steady-state analysis.
- Obtain authority approvals with minimal revisions by coordinating with local authorities and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and review clarifications to contractor RFIs and approve key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities.
- Attend client meetings to gather information, discuss project requirements, and present technical solutions in a professional and competent manner.
- Manage and mentor electrical engineers and CAD technicians across geographically and culturally diverse teams.
- Foster effective working environments, nurture relationships, and promote digitalization, innovation, and workload management across projects.
- Report effectively to line managers and project managers, ensuring seamless coordination with all relevant disciplines.
- In-depth understanding of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, KSA, and Qatar authority guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of dry utilities and infrastructure projects from concept to IFC stage.
