Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Operations Trainee, AWS Data Centers; UAE National

AWS have an exciting Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Operations Traineeship opportunity in Dubai available for a UAE national with family book. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Engineering Operations Technician Trainees to join our expanding Data Center team in Dubai.

• Duration: 6 months, full‑time (40 hours/week), with a view to become permanent at the end of the traineeship, depending on performance and business needs.
• Schedule:
  
  Standard Monday–Friday day schedule.
• The program provides exposure to the skills required for a future full‑time Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role. Please note a full‑time role may involve shifts, weekends, and on‑call rotations.

  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

• Assist in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Support root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Help troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Use our internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage workflows.
• Work alongside third‑party vendors and contractors onsite.
• Work with equipment that supports mission‑critical servers, including diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, air‑handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

• Working at heights and from ladders.
• Regularly lifting/moving up to 22kg (49lb) unassisted, and participating in group lifts for heavier loads.
• Using hands to handle and manipulate small tools, wires, and objects.

• UAE National with family book.
• Recently graduated or enrolled in the final semester, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
• Or recently graduated from a Technical/Trade school program (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
