Sr. Planning Engineer
We are hiring a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to oversee planning and scheduling activities for complete civil works in large-scale construction projects. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of project controls, Primavera P6, and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, monitor, and update project schedules using Primavera P6, specifically focusing on civil activities.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for planning and progress updates.
Integrate civil planning and architectural schedules for seamless execution.
Prepare and submit baseline programs, look‑ahead schedules, recovery plans, and delay analysis reports.
Monitor project milestones and critical paths to identify potential delays and propose mitigation measures.
Track actual progress vs planned and generate progress reports, histograms, and S-curves.
Participate in technical and progress meetings with consultants and clients.
Provide input for monthly invoicing, procurement schedules, and material delivery plans.
Conduct time impact analysis and support claims/dispute documentation if needed.
RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a planning engineer within the UAE/GCC/India.
Proven experience in large-scale building construction projects (high-rises, villas, commercial).
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
Strong knowledge of project controls, cash flow, manpower planning, and resource management.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Core Planning & Scheduling Software- Primavera P6 (Oracle)—Must-have, widely used in the UAE for project scheduling, resource loading, and time impact analysis.
- MS Project – Secondary, but still required in many companies for smaller projects or client coordination.
- Primavera Risk Analysis (Pertmaster)—For risk management and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Tilos – If working on linear projects (roads, pipelines, rail).
- Cost management software like Candy CCS or Primavera Unifier—for integration of planning with cost.
- MS Excel (Advanced)—Pivot tables, formulas, and dashboards for progress reporting.
- Power BI / Tableau—Increasingly in demand for visual reporting of KPIs.
- AutoCAD / Navisworks (basic knowledge)—helpful for coordinating with design/drawings.
- BIM 4D Tools (Synchro / Navisworks Manage) – If the company uses BIM-based planning.
- ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle)—Sometimes required for project controls and integration.
