Associate Director – Electrical/Mechanical; Data Centres
WSP in the Middle East are currently hiring for an Associate/ Associate Director – Electrical/Mechanical (Data Centres) to join our rapidly expanding mission‑critical practice. This role is an exceptional opportunity for seasoned data centre professionals in the United Kingdom who are seeking to elevate their career through high‑impact, large‑scale projects across the Middle East.
You will lead multidisciplinary design, advisory, and delivery of complex, mission‑critical data centre developments across the region, contributing to one of the world’s fastest‑growing digital infrastructure markets. The position will drive client engagement, project strategy, technical excellence, and team leadership, ensuring all data centre solutions align with global standards for resilience, sustainability, and scalability.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership- Lead the design and integration of MEP systems for mission‑critical data centre facilities.
- Review, validate, and approve technical deliverables to ensure alignment with global and regional standards.
- Support the development of modular, hyperscale, and cloud‑based data centre strategies.
- Ensure all solutions meet resilience, sustainability, and scalability requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients across the Middle East digital infrastructure sector.
- Lead technical workshops, presentations, and design review sessions.
- Strengthen long‑term relationships and support repeat business opportunities.
- Represent WSP at key client and industry engagements.
- Mentor and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Oversee resource planning, capability development, and practice growth.
- Promote quality assurance, consistency, and best practice across the mission‑critical team.
- Help advance technical excellence and innovation within the regional practice.
- Contribute to wider regional growth initiatives within the mission‑critical and digital infrastructure sectors.
- Provide strategic input during early project conversations and support positioning efforts with key clients.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to strengthen WSP’s presence in the Middle East data centre market.
- Support the preparation of proposals and technical narratives, ensuring alignment with client expectations and sector trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Strong understanding of Tier standards, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
- Experience with major consultancies or international engineering firms.
- Proven ability to lead client interactions and technical project delivery.
- Open to relocating to Dubai and engaging in regional Middle East project work.
