Procurement Manager (Powerplant) will manage the acquisition of goods and/or services in collaboration with the business/user department contributing the required process orientation and commercial expertise. To facilitate and coordinate effective cross-functional teamwork and act as the account manager/interface between Emirates and selected high value suppliers.
In This Role You Will Be Responsible For- GENERIC
- Sourcing and supplier selection: formulating sourcing plans including negotiation strategy in conjunction with the business/user department within the department's approved budget. Identify and evaluate sources of supply that meet Emirates requirements, minimizing total life time cost and business risk.
- Supplier Relationship Management, KPIs and assessment: establish and maintain a strong relationship with suppliers that provide optimal benefit to Emirates. Create and carry out, in conjunction with the business/user department, a comprehensive supplier assessment and benchmarking process that measures performance and quality of deliverables, turn-around times, and operational support. Address shortfalls promptly with appropriate actions.
- Stakeholder Management: proactively support stakeholders in their procurement initiatives including spend assessment, business case preparation, cost monitoring against budgets, and compliance.
- Process and procedure: ensure processes and procedures align with group policies and regulatory requirements, are documented in the EPMs, and reviewed to measure and enhance effectiveness with internal controls and reporting. Lead the team and conduct performance management, ensuring SLA delivery and department objectives.
- SPECIFIC
Power Plant
- Powerplant sourcing: negotiation and management of power plant sourcing including engine and APU selection, spare purchases, product support and repair agreements with warranty coverage for optimal and cost-effective support to Emirates operations.
- Operational support: liaise with OEMs to secure required support, including negotiating leased units and commitment letters for labour and material support for rectifying defects.
- Redelivery optimisation: coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans for timely and cost-effective redeliveries of operating leased units, including contractual redelivery requirements for engines/APU and discussions with lessors.
- EEMC and EFTA support: provide procurement support to EEMC and EFTA, including negotiation of offload and storefront agreements and timely procurement support for aircraft or aftermarket services with cost-effective terms.
- Contracting: draft or negotiate contracts capturing negotiated terms, user requirements, operational support, cost protection, SLAs, penalties, and remedies. Coordinate with stakeholders to finalize and execute contracts following policy manuals and guidelines.
To Be Considered For This Role You Must Have
8 years experience in Procurement, Aircraft, Supply Chain Management
Knowledge/skills- Degree in Business and/or Engineering, preferably Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
- Experience in an Airline, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Maintenance Organisation
- Extensive knowledge of supplier relationship structuring and performance management
- Understanding of airline engineering and maintenance activities
- Ability to create, sell in, and implement business processes
- Strong project management skills in a global supply environment
- Ability to benchmark supply markets for given spend commodities
- Previous experience with aviation line/base and engineering maintenance services is a plus
- Familiarity with GCAA/FAA/EASA regulations is an asset
- Specific aircraft domain expertise is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
