Senior BIM Coordinator

The Senior BIM Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring precise, reliable, and coordinated digital models across all facade, structural, and architectural interfaces. This position serves as the primary executor of BIM workflows, overseeing model federation, clash detection cycles, data integrity, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Working at the intersection of design, engineering, operations, and manufacturing, the Senior BIM Coordinator ensures that all modeling outputs support accurate decision‑making, fabrication readiness, and site execution. The role demands expert control of Revit, Navisworks, and common data environments, paired with disciplined documentation, versioning, and communication practices.

The Senior BIM Coordinator acts as a technical authority for BIM protocols, ensuring that modeling processes reflect consistent standards, predictable outputs, and continuous improvement across the Design & Engineering organization.

• Lead the daily coordination, updating, and maintenance of discipline‑specific and federated BIM models.
• Execute clash detection cycles, track issues, assign owners, and manage closure through structured logs.
• Maintain strict version control, model cleanliness, and adherence to internal BIM standards.

• Coordinate with facade designers, structural engineers, modelers, and project management to align model content with current project requirements.
• Facilitate BIM coordination meetings; prepare visualizations, extracts, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing, procurement, and site teams by preparing accurate model‑based data sets, extracts, and geometry.

• Enforce BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements across project teams.
• Conduct QA/QC checks on models, ensuring naming conventions, parameters, geometry, and data structure meet standards.

• Provide advanced Revit and Navisworks support to project teams; troubleshoot modeling breakdowns.
• Build and maintain content libraries, templates, and efficiency‑driving tools.
• Prepare model views, sheets, schedules, and extracts required for coordination and downstream workflows.

• Maintain BIM logs, coordination registers, clash reports, and workflow documentation.
• Track upstream design changes and ensure model updates reflect the latest approved information.
• Produce data exports (IFC, DWG, schedules, take‑offs) for internal and external use.
• Identify inefficiencies within BIM workflows and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to internal training, lessons‑learned sessions, and standardization initiatives.
• Support the rollout of digital tools and future BIM/VDC capabilities.

• Expert proficiency in Revit, Navisworks Manage, and BIM collaboration platforms.
• Strong understanding of façade systems, structural interfaces, and architectural coordination.
• Solid grasp of file management, version control, and BIM data structuring.
• Ability to manage multiple models under tight timelines.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in visual and model‑based explanation.
• Disciplined documentation habits; meticulous attention to detail.
• Capable of anticipating coordination challenges before they become blockers.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams under rapid delivery cycles.

• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 7 years BIM coordination experience in facade, structural, or architectural environments.
• Experience coordinating large, complex multi-disciplinary models.

• Expert Revit and Navisworks Manage capabilities.
• Familiarity with Rhino, AutoCAD, or CATIA is an asset.
• Experience with cloud collaboration tools (BIM 360, ACC, Revizto, etc.).
• Understanding of fabrication-driven modeling workflows is advantageous.
