Facility Maintenance Controller - Engineering

Overview

Job Purpose
As a Facility Maintenance Controller, you will oversee all maintenance activities to ensure they meet company standards efficiently, propose improvements in maintenance processes, and ensure workplace safety is adhered to effectively. Coordinate maintenance tasks to maintain the continuous operation of facilities and installations, safeguarding business operations from interruptions.

• Supervise Maintenance Officers and technical staff carrying out facility operation, maintenance, and repair duties, ensuring all tasks are completed within schedule while maintaining required quality standards. Contribute to managing manpower to ensure sufficient 24/7 coverage across all facilities.
• Control and monitor process management systems to ensure all control systems are properly maintained and functioning effectively and efficiently.
• Conduct thorough system surveys of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical equipment and control systems in the facility, assigning rectification tasks where required to ensure equipment is available and performs as required.
• Monitor utility usage in key areas, raise concerns to management, identify opportunities to control consumption, and recommend processes to achieve this. Analyze energy, water consumption and waste to propose clean and low-energy solutions that reduce overall consumption and promote sustainability.
• Support in maintaining service level agreements for equipment to ensure renewal on time. Continuously look for improvements in scope and reduce cost while supporting sustainability.
• Manage assigned projects and provide input on design deliverables, construction progress and equipment selection to ensure compliance with specifications, reliability and maintainability of installations and equipment for successful project delivery.
• Ensure all Maintenance Service Requests (SR) and Turnaround Work Orders (WO) are monitored, reviewed, and actioned in a timely manner per set processes.
• Evaluate the performance of third-party vendors and contractors to ensure they meet contractual obligations and performance standards. Analyze statistics and data to assess progress and service levels, including workload and quality per KPIs.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for facilities maintenance to minimize disruption during emergencies and unexpected events.
• Maintain mutual understanding with third party suppliers and contractors to ensure all company requirements are met for seamless operation.

• A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Electronic Engineering
• Practical work experience in building services or process control systems within a large industrial environment
• Proven record of independently maintaining and repairing low voltage control systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of extra-low voltage control systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing for detailed review of deliverables in EK ENGG projects
• Knowledge of local and international standards and practices for maintenance tasks
