Job DescriptionSenior Quantity Surveyor
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will get to perform a variety of standard estimating activities, re-measurement of work completed by the contractors (individual or as part of a team) on an assigned project/program.
What You’ll Be Doing- Managing contractual and commercial correspondence
- Handling cost reports, variations, claims
- Maintaining payment logs, variation logs and claims logs, etc.
- Coordinating with clients
- Coordinating with entire supervision team to handle any contractual/claims letters
- Supporting all commercial and contractual issues
- Guiding QS’s on measurement principles
- Reviewing BOQ recapitulation prepared by Quantity Surveyor
- Reviewing monthly financial affairs report
- Reviewing interim and final measurements
- Reviewing contractor’s and consultant’s interim and final pay certificates
- Processing contractor payment certificates
- Preparing/reviewing tender documents/tender reports etc.
- Preparing and/or reviewing variation and new rate submissions
- Preparing and/reviewing variation/change orders for approval
- Supporting cost planning and cost control functions
- Reviewing preparation of change orders and variation orders
- Assisting in evaluating claims
- Supporting all cost planning, cost control functions, other contractual and commercial duties
- Drafting and reviewing contractual letters
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying (or other related field)
- Professional membership of MRICS is required
- 15+ years of work experience in prime contract administration of major roads and large infrastructure projects is required
- Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Conversant with CESMM, FIDIC and other relevant standards
- Working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract administration; ability to perform in a management capacity is also required
- Related work experience in Dubai
- UAE client approvals will be preferred
- Prior experience working in a consultancy will be preferred
