Civil Works Design Coordinator – 12 Months Extendable
Transguard Workforce Solutions is the UAE’s leading provider of unique innovative HR solutions. We are currently recruiting a Civil Works Design Coordinator for a 12‑month contract with a client based in Dubai.
Job SummaryThis position will manage and coordinate civil works design activities for high‑voltage substation projects, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with project requirements.
Job Responsibilities- Establish and follow up on the Civil Works Design planning to meet and improve project deadlines.
- Verify and scrutinize validity of interface data.
- Prepare provisional drawing list and manage follow‑up in liaison with Electrical Design Coordinator.
- Monitor forecasted/actual drawing issuance dates and assist CW PM in obtaining client/consultant approvals.
- Ensure proper document control for drawings dispatch.
- Assist CW PM in selection, negotiation, and contracting with local design subcontractors to meet budget and deadlines.
- Validate and submit monthly progress reports of design subcontractors.
- Control and coordinate CW design to minimize construction costs while meeting contract requirements.
- Initiate, report, and follow up on design modifications during engineering or construction stages.
- Highlight any design deviation, assumption, or delay impacting schedule or cost.
- Assist CW PM in identifying potential savings through value engineering.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (or equivalent).
- 7‑10 years of experience in civil works design or construction (preferably design side).
- Experience with HV substations is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of civil works interfaces and UAE standards.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project, and other relevant tools. ellar
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
