Position: Site HSE Specialist Infrastructure Projects)

Job Summary

The HSE Specialist is a key member of the HSE team in the Geography. S/He supports the enforcement of corporate Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures in the Geography. S/He conducts HSE audits to ensure the compliance of departments and supervision teams with the organization's HSE policies and procedures. The jobholder also supports the preparation of periodic HSE audits on the Geography offices and supervision sites and ensures the rectification of HSE non‑conformance issues.

S/He supports the delivery of HSE training and awareness sessions to the Geography staff, as needed.

• Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality cost‑effectively

Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)

• Support with the provision of feedback and suggestions on corporate HSE policies and procedures to the corporate HSE Department through periodic meetings, as needed
• Participate in the delivery of HSE training and awareness sessions to Geography staff, as required
• Provide support to the Geography's supervision teams with the development of construction HSE plans for supervision projects, as needed

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Support the enforcement of corporate HSE policies and procedures in the Geography
• Support the adaptation of corporate HSE policies and procedures to local requirements in the Geography as needed
• Support the development of action plans to achieve HSE certification targets (e.g., OHSAS 18001) in the Geography and support the Geography management with the implementation of these action plans, as needed
• Conduct periodic HSE audits on the Geography offices and supervision sites to check the compliance of K&A departments with HSE policies and procedures
• Identify HSE non‑conformance issues, summarize findings in periodic HSE audit reports and recommend corrective action plans and reports for addressing identified HSE non‑conformances in the Geography
• Support the preparation of periodic audit finding reports and HSE performance reports, as needed
• Develop and update a database of HSE audits and findings in the Geography as per corporate policies, procedures and templates
• Implement corporate procedures

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor
• Knowledge of HSSE compliance requirements and audit programs is preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in spoken and written English;
  Arabic is an advantage

Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role

• 8+ years of experience in an HSSE function, preferably in the Architecture, Engineering and Planning Industry

Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role

• Experience with enforcement of HSE policies, procedures and tools is preferred
• Experience with executing HSE audits
• Experience with delivering HSE training programs
