Join to apply for the Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre Segment role at TALENTMATE

Eaton has been a key player in the Middle East for 40 years. Last July, we announced the construction of a new sustainable campus in Dubai, which will bring together our commercial, manufacturing, and support functions, providing room for future growth.

Eaton is a power management company that provides energy‑efficient solutions to manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power safely and sustainably. We employ approximately 96,000 employees worldwide.

As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Data Centres at Eaton, you will be a key technical expert in the design, development, and application of cooling infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects. You will drive innovation in thermal management strategies, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and scalability for our clients. This role involves collaboration with cross‑functional teams, clients, and consultants to deliver world‑class solutions from concept to commissioning.

What

You’ll Do
  • Lead the design and development of innovative data centre cooling solutions utilizing the full Eaton portfolio and third‑party equipment.
  • Provide technical leadership in mechanical design aspects, including Whitespace design, chiller plants, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units, and facility water systems.
  • Develop and implement advanced cooling strategies, including hot/cold aisle containment and air, liquid, and hybrid systems.
  • Research, evaluate, and design solutions using emerging technologies such as direct‑to‑chip liquid cooling and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs).
  • Conduct and/or support Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimise airflow and thermal performance, ensuring PUE targets are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers and sales teams to ensure technical quality in quotations, interpret customer specifications, and ensure successful project execution and handover.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in client‑facing meetings, building trusted relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, and end‑users to promote Eaton solutions.
  • Produce high‑quality technical documentation, specifications, and reports, ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE, OCP).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • A minimum of 5–10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years specifically focused on data centre or mission‑critical projects.
Skills
  • Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards chartership is highly desirable.
  • Deep technical knowledge of data centre power and cooling architectures, including HVAC, chilled water systems, pumps, motors, and BMS controls.
  • Experience with design and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CFD tools).
  • Effective communicator and team player with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Fluent in English.
What We Offer You
  • Being part of a company that has been in business for more than 100 years and has a major impact on the energy industry.
  • Annual mentoring programme, Eaton University, reward, and recognition system.
  • Ongoing learning and career development opportunities in a global company.
  • Strong, agile and diverse team locally and globally.
  • Strong processes and state‑of‑the‑art systems and tools.
  • Detailed induction support and well‑structured onboarding.
  • Balance your work and life with a hybrid worktime model.
