Job DescriptionCivil Engineers play a crucial role in designing, developing, and constructing infrastructure projects that range from small‑scale buildings to large‑scale structures like bridges and highways. In the position of Civil Engineer 10J26, you will be responsible for developing detailed construction plans, analyzing project resources, and ensuring that projects meet highly regulated building codes and safety regulations. Working with a team of engineers, architects, and construction workers, you will need to ensure that all infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
This position requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to manage complex projects effectively. You will also need to engage stakeholders, procure materials, and address any issues that could compromise project integrity or safety.
- Develop comprehensive design plans and specifications for infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze data to conduct site feasibility studies.
- Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets efficiently to avoid overruns.
- Ensure projects adhere to all relevant legal, health, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure project success.
- Use CAD software and other engineering tools to plan and model support structures.
- Monitor quality control processes and implement systems to improve project efficiency.
- Identify risks to the project timeline and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure clear stakeholder communication through reports and presentations as required.
- Participate in the procurement and logistics process to ensure timely project progress.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in civil engineering.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and interns on the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a civil engineering role or related capacity.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain certification preferred.
- Proficient in computer‑aided design (CAD) software and civil engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time‑management skills are necessary.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment with a diverse project team.
