Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Engineer with a strong background in building construction to support an ongoing project on a short‑term contract basis. The ideal candidate will be available to start immediately and bring hands‑on expertise in construction safety, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on‑site.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential risks or non‑compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks and HSE training to site teams.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety performance.
- Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role, with specific experience in building construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulations.
- NEBOSH certification (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly in a dynamic construction environment.
- Experience working on commercial or large‑scale building projects.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and permitting requirements.
